June 2015....Really?!??!

Where does the time go?  5 years ago I started this blog with every intention of writing about our daily life.  I wanted some place to keep the funny little stories, pictures, and just ramblings.  My life is filled with good intentions but seldom do I act upon them.  I spend so much time reading other people's blog and getting a glimpse into their lives that I end up not recording anything about our life.  I'm going to, once again, try and capture our life on this blog so I have some type of record.  My goal is to have a record of our next 5 years.  I want to record all that I can so when I can't remember I just have to pull it up here and relive it.

My summer vacation begins tomorrow and so does the rebirth of this blog!!

Sarah and I joined a Mommy & Me online scrapbooking class at BPS. One of our visit assignmnets was to visit an ice cream parlour, take a picture and do a scrapbook page. So on Sunday we went to Baskin & Robbins and had some ice cream. Sarah was very specific on the type of pictures she wanted taken. We all laughed at her silliness.

"I'm not a dog"

This morning as I was trying to get Sarah to get up to start getting ready for summer camp, she was laying on her stomach with no interest in getting up, I said to her "roll over". She immediately replied "I'm not a dog". She had me laughing. She amazes me with how quickly she can come up with one liners. She's just like her Daddy. I wish I had a picture to include with this post but I've let both batteries to my camera run down.

Trying Again

Another six months have gone by and I haven't blogged. I struggle to fit it in to my routine. I'm always busy so that can't continue to be an excuse. I have found that I wish I had taken the time to record several important things that have happened over the last six months. Just to have a journal of some kind. I tend to spend more time reading other people's blog and I'm going to try and refocus myself on spending more time on mine journal or blog.

I've also been scrapbooking the last two weeks, something else that I tend to say I'm too busy to do. The sad thing is that I really enjoy scrapbooking and have such a good time doing it. Sarah has started to get into it, when she sees me doing a page she wants to jump in and help. I've signed us up to do a class together at BPS - Kidding Around. It's six weeks and hopefully we'll do some fun things together.

I'm off to see if I can figure out how to upload some pictures of the layouts I've completed while taking the BPS Camp Scrap class.

2010

A new year...new possibilities...new goals....

I started this blog to keep a record of our activities but didn't good a job keeping up with it. I'm starting over! I thought about doing a recap of 2009 but it's already the third day of the new year so I'm just going to start fresh.

I purchased the Project Life from Becky Higgins and I'm eagerly awaiting it's arrival. I have taken a POTD (picture of the day), beginning January 1st. I'm excited to keep this project alive all year. I think it will be great to look back and see our day to day life.

We also decided we are going to do monthly goals instead of resolutions. I want to do a 12x12 layout with our goals and our monthly bible verse. I'm waiting to get the kit to see how I can incorporate a 12x12 layout.

I'll add my pictures weekly, probably on Tuesday. I like to follow Jessica's blog and she is going to post her Project Life on Tuesdays with a link.

January goals (in no particular order):
* Sell GS Cookies
* Organize Pantry
* Close out 2009 Ebay
* Set up Sarah's Computer
* Project 365
* Game Night Once a Week
* Read Psalms (Chapter 1-75)
* Celebrate Sarah's 6th Bday

Our bible verse for January
Jeremiah 29:11 - "For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."

Catch Up

I can't believe it's been almost a month since I blogged. It has been so crazy, busy. So much has happened in the last month, became a Daisy troop leader, grandparent's breakfast at school, quick vacation weekend, burned my hand (3rd degree on my fingers), celebrated Nana's 85th birthday and soccer season has begun.

I volunteered to be Sarah's Daisy Troop Leader. We've had three meetings and they've gone well. I'm still learning alot and have to attend a bunch of training and meetings. I feel like this has become another full time job. We had to do nut/candy sales and the girls raised over $200. Sarah sold 66 items. The fun part is going to be picking up the product and distributing it to all the girls.

Sarah's school at had grandparents breakfast. Grandma, Mr. Bob and Nana came and had breakfast with Sarah. Grandma came to realize that Sarah was more interested in talking to her friends then visiting with her and Nana. It's already started, Sarah would rather be with her friends than with her family. Guess I was hoping we had another couple of years before that happened.

We didn't take a family vacation this summer, the summer just got away from us. So we decided to go to a dude ranch in Bandera for a weekend. Bandera is about 45 minutes from us. We went up on Friday night and stayed until Sunday afternoon. It was quick trip but we had fun. I forgot the charger on for my digital camera so I had to buy a disposal camera and boy did I miss my digital camera. I haven't gotten the film developed yet.

The Flying L Ranch is where we went. We haven't been there is like 10 years and boy has the place changed.

Sarah had fun riding a pony. She wasn't old enough to go horseback riding.

Our beautiful girl at breakfast. I'll post more pictures and finish catching up on the next post.

Daisy Troop Leader

Guess what I got roped into this weekend - becoming the troop leader for Sarah's Daisy troop. No one wanted to step up and be the leader so I said I would. The first meeting is this Friday night which doesn't give me much time to prepare but I'll just have to wing it. It's going to be another busy week.
