Another successful day

Well we made it through day two. Sarah, once again, jumped right out of bed this morning. She proceeded to get ready and we walked out the door on time and not one of us was frustrated - this is a major big deal. Mornings don't usually go so smoothly. Tomorrow will be the true test since I'm going back to work and Tom is out of town. Fingers crossed that it goes well.

Sarah told me that she's really not learning this week, the teacher told the class that this week was about figuring out how things in the classroom work. I wasn't quick on my feet and didn't think about turning that moment in to a "learning moment". I should have said something smart like - "well Sarah isn't figuring things out in a classroom a type of learning - you have to learn how things work."

Last night, just before Sarah was going to bed, she told Tom and I that she was born to be beautiful. She said it so seriously. I hope that she will be beautiful inside and out. We are struggling right now with pride. Sarah's favorite saying seems to be "I know". Anytime we say something or try to show her something, she immediately replies "I know". We are trying to teach her that it's okay to ask for help and that always saying I know will lead to her being thought of as a "know it all" which isn't always a good thing. This is an area of ongoing prayer for me.

Sarah had taekwondo tonight. Below is a picture of her in her yellow belt, kicking the bag.
